WW2 Spitfire the name evokes visions sleek deadly lines, graceful elliptical wings, of bravery and clear blue sky’s filled with enemy aircraft. Furious dogfights and the sky filled with vapour trails. It has been called the best fighter of world war 2, certainly it is the most recognizable fighter aircraft from this era and it still invokes a sense of awe and power in the many who love this aircraft. It’s quite arguably the most produced kit in all scales out there. It still captures the minds of the young and young at heart. I like this aircraft but I’m drawn by the German airplanes of World war 2. My favourite aircraft is the Fw190D, but I love all the guises of the Fw190! There were 19 marks of Spitfire during world war two. There were a couple of Marks after the wars end and a complete redesign of the wings and airframe (Spiteful) before the jet age took over and relegated the piston engined fighter to history.
