Vintage Model Airplane Kits is a term usually used to describe a kit that has been around for a number of decades. They are out of production but still pop up from time to time on the local sales tables of your local IMPS (International Plastic Modelers Society) club or some such. Online auction sites area good way to collect Vintage model airplane kits as other modelers periodically clean out their stashes. How does one Identify a Vintage model airplane kit, well I personally believe it has to do with the date it was manufactured. Some model kitset companies are still using moulds that are many decades old, Airfix is a case in point. So a vintage Model Airplane kit would be one produced in the sixties or seventies.
